We have an extra event this month - following the Steam Train from Rolleston to Arthur’s Pass and return
Bruce Keddie (one of our members) will be the Excursion Manager on the train.
We will meet at the Rolly Inn car park, Rolleston at 9.30am on Sunday morning and drive through to Arthur’s Pass. There will be several opportunities to see and photograph the train along the way.
The train stops in Arthur’s Pass for 1.5 hours and then returns to Christchurch.
We will have the usual coffee & cake on the way home.
Come along and join us.
Please note: other people have "followed the train" previously and would like to issue a warning - there are a lot of crazy drivers out on the road "following the train". Be warned that some people speed and undertake dangerous passing manoeuvres so they can get to the front of the queue, at which point they will then slow down suddenly to keep pace with the train. Look after yourself out there.
