Skope Classic 2015

This is not a Classic Motoring Society event but one we all love to attend, either to participate in ourselves or to watch a massive number of classic vehicles hurtle around the track!

Held at Mike Pero Motorsport Park, just 30 minutes from the centre of Christchurch City, the 3.3-km circuit allows starting grids of up to 45 cars at a time.

The feature event of the weekend’s motorsport programme is the Sir Robertson Stewart Grand Prix, which is contested by the faster, more powerful saloon cars across the classes. Other highlights this year include the NZ Pre 65 racing; this is a historic class of racing, active for over 30years with many of the cars racing all of that time. Their cars include smaller 4 cylinder Anglias and Cortina's along with much larger V8 Fords and Chev powered cars such as Mustangs. The weekend will also feature the return of the F5000’s, historic touring cars, Mainland Muscle and historic OSCA and Sportscars, Saloons and Single Seaters.

The weekend is not only suited to classic car enthusiasts either. This is an event for the whole family with lots of entertainment for the kids with face painting and bouncy castles and plenty of great food, fun and hospitality!
